Proud to be a Hawkeye

Words cannot describe just how cool this video is. During the National Anthem, in Kinnick Stadium yesterday- fans participated in a "card stunt." The cards went from a very patriotic red/white/blue with stars and stripes! Then, as the anthem ended, Kinnick turned into a black/gold Go HAWKS! ANF (America Needs Farmers) display along with a Tiger Hawk in the student section. It was truly amazing.

Here are some photos from Kinnick thanks to my friends on Facebook!

This was also our now ANNUAL Black and Gold Spirit day where odd sections where black (and students) and even sections wear gold. It turned out beautiful once again and IOWA snapped their 3 year losing streak to Northwestern by wining 41-31.

Productive weekend

I think it's every girls wish every weekend to get more things done around the house. I'm not sure why but it just gives a sense of so much accomplishment.

This weekend we arranged our family room! For the first time really since we moved into the house in 2003. We really used the family room as a free for all, laundry, just anything. But now, it is an actual family room!

Today, we worked on our basement. We have a nice big area for workout purposes! I am so excited to start my training tomorrow.

Rabid fan.. Yeah, that's me!

So I'm a Hawkeye. A proud Hawkeye. Win or lose... I still support my team. I run the Iowa Club here for alumni in the Western Mihigan area.

Today's game watch was a little different. The game was slow... As my friend Mike's daughter said --- this. Is. Boring.

Iowa vs Penn State- boy are both teams down. The final was 13-3.. Penn State winning... Only the second time in our last ten meetings. JoePa and a great program.. Not too shabby. Well, we have our game watches at a local sports bar, in the VIP room. The other half today was a bunch of Michigan fans waiting for their game against Northwestern. Well, I take it as a compliment that they were routing against us. Yes, cheering and clapping for Penn State.. Just to be dare I say- arrogant?

I cheer for my school- I went there. I am proud. I'm from Illinois, not Michigan... I really hope the Wildcats shut up this arrogance. :)
